NIAA Introduction to Academic Anaesthesia Bursary

In September 2013, the first Introduction to Academic Anaesthesia course was run as a collaborative initiative between the London Academy of Anaesthesia and the NIAA. The course was intended to introduce anaesthesia trainees to research methods and opportunities. This is now an annual meeting, with attendance invited from across the UK.

Following the success of these courses, the NIAA decided that it would like to support regional courses which replicated elements of the original Introduction to Academic Anaesthesia course. Two bursaries of £500 were awarded to support courses in 2014/2015 following an announcement at GAT in June 2014.

There will be 3 bursaries of £500 available to cover costs associated with running a course for trainees on any branch of academic anaesthesia, including improvement science, but excluding simulation or other medical education based courses. The course must be planned to run between July 2015 and June 2016. To apply for one of these bursaries, please complete the questions on this form https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/NIAA_IAA_Bursary before the 3rd of August 2015 (Extended deadline). Successful applicants will be notified in early August
2015. Queries regarding the bursaries or applications should be directed to Mary Casserly, mcasserly@rcoa.ac.uk
