Year 4 - Quarter 2 Reports Now Available
Following the successful pilot in April the NELA project team are pleased to announce that going forward we will be making available Quarterly Reports of hospital data.
It is hoped quarterly reporting will allow hospitals to make use of their most recent NELA data and to track their performance over time.
This report includes all cases taken to theatre between 1 March 2017 and 31 May 2017, regardless of whether they are locked or unlocked on the NELA web tool.
You can find your Individual Hospital Report on the NELA Data Collection Webtool under the 'Reports' tab and then clicking on 'Hospital Reports'. You can then choose a Hospital and Report Type.

Only cases where the necessary data are available have been included in the denominator for each individual analysis. Please note that the thresholds for the RAG ratings have been increased, and will be expected to increase further in subsequent years. These new boundaries will also be used for the formal annual report that covers all patients who received surgery in the 4th year of patients data collection dating from 1st December 206 to 30th November 2017.
This version does not include outcome measures such as unplanned return to theatre, unplanned critical care admission, or postoperative length of stay. We will consider including these in future if the quality of the available data allows meaningful reporting. However, it may be the case that insufficient data are available within the proposed turnaround times. This will be kept under review.
