NELA Data used in Award Winning Paper

NELA data has been used in a published paper which has been awarded a prize at the recent International Surgical Congress of the Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland (ASGBI).

The paper titled 'Thirty-day mortality in patients undergoing laparotomy for small bowel obstruction' was published electronically in the British Journal of Surgery (BJS) and was awarded the ASGBI John Farndon Prize for the best manuscript published in the BJS in the previous calendar year, having been previously presented at an ASGBI meeting.

The NELA Project Team would like to congratulate all involved on winning this prestigious award.

We would also like to thank all those local participants for their incredible effort every day to collect the data which was used in this paper. Without this commitment and endeavour this important work would not be possible.
