The role of the Research Council is to:
- Develop research strategy and partnership working
- Support clinical and laboratory research
- Oversee work of the NIAA Grants Committee
- Administer the:
- NIAA Research Grants
- Research Fellowships
- British Oxygen Company Research Grant
- NIAA Research Grants
Outputs
- Awarded NIHR UKCRN Portfolio Status in 2009
- Conducted a national Research Priority Setting Exercise in 2014-15
- Overseen approximately £11.6 million in research funding to date (as at 2020)
